On May 14, two studies, “Comparison of Waterproof Coil Formulations” and “Standard Development of Waterproof Asphalt Groups”, were carried out in full swing at PetroChina’s first waterproof asphalt pilot plant. These are the first two studies launched after the base was unveiled on April 29.

As China Petroleum’s first pilot test base for waterproof asphalt, fuel oil company research institute and Jianguo Weiye Group and other units will be committed to the promotion and application of new waterproof asphalt products, cooperative development of new waterproof asphalt and related auxiliary products, and development of technology at this base Exchange training, carry out research work on industrial application of waterproof asphalt products. It will become an incubation base for the transformation of new products and new technologies of PetroChina, which is of great significance for accelerating the promotion and application of PetroChina’s waterproof asphalt products and providing better and more economical waterproof asphalt products for the waterproof industry.

As a high-end product in the asphalt family, waterproof asphalt has become the largest variety of asphalt except road asphalt. Last year, China’s petroleum waterproof asphalt sales reached 1.53 million tons, with a market share of more than 21%.
