Nippon coatings a $3.8 billion acquisition of Australia dulux!

Reporter learns recently, build state coating to announce 3.8 billion Australian dollar to buy Australian dulux.It is understood that Nippon coatings agreed to acquire Dulux Group at a $9.80 per share.The deal values the Australian company at a $3.8 billion.Dulux closed at a $7.67 on Tuesday, representing a 28 per cent premium. 

The dulux group is an Australian and New Zealand company of paints, coatings, sealants and adhesives. The main end markets focus on residential areas, focusing on the maintenance and improvement of existing homes.On May 28, 1918, BALM coating was registered and established in new south wales, Australia, which started its 100-year development process until today’s dullers group.In 1933, BALM acquired the right to use Dulux’s registered trademark in Australia and introduced the latest advanced coating technology from dupont.

Dulux has long held the position of the largest paint manufacturer in Australia.In the 2018 Top Companies list of Coatings manufacturers by sales released by Coatings World, Australia’s dolos ranked 15th with sales of $939 million.

 Dulux group reported sales of $1.84 billion in fiscal 2018, up 3.3% year on year.Sales revenue rose 4.5 per cent, excluding the divested China coatings business;Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization of $257.7 million;Earnings before interest and tax rose 4.2 percent from a year earlier to $223.2 million.Net profit after tax rose 5.4 percent from a year earlier to $150.7 million.

In 2018, dulux sold its decorative coatings business in China (dejialang camel coatings business) and exited its joint venture in China and Hong Kong.Dulux has said its current focus in China is the Selleys business.
