Scope of application and basic requirements

1. Wooden roof

(1) Plywood roof – thickness of more than 10mm.

(4) Plate spacing between 3-6mm.

2. Concrete roof

(1) Cement mortar no less than 325.

(2) Medium sand or coarse sand should be used, with mud content less than 3%.

(3) Mix ratio 1:3 (cement, sand) – volume ratio.

(4) The thickness of the leveling layer is 30mm.

(5) The flatness error of the leveling layer is no more than 5mm when detected by 2m ruler.

4. Brush with cold base oil

6. A nail

Nails are used when fixing asphalt shingles to the roof. The diameter of nail cap is not less than 9.5㎜, and the length is not less than 20㎜. In addition, the exposed part of the nail should be flush with the tile surface, and the nail should not be excessively hammered into the tile. Each tile needs 4-6 nails, evenly distributed.

7. Tools you need

Ruler, box cutter, hammer, spring tool. Construction personnel should wear flat cloth shoes or rubber shoes.

Three, the construction

1. The elastic line

First, for easy alignment, play some white lines on the base. The first horizontal white line should be played at the bottom of 333 mm from the initial layer of colorful asphalt tile, and then the interval between each line below is 143㎜. The top of each layer of colorful asphalt shingles should match the chalk line being played.

To also align vertically, from the ridge to the eaves, run a line along the eaves of the gable on the surface of the first multicolor tile near the edge of the gable, opposite the first cut of the multicolor tile. Each of the lines below is then spaced 167mm apart so that the white lines can be used to ensure that the cuts of the multi-colored asphalt shingles are aligned.

2. Install the initial layer

The initial layer is laid directly on the roof base along the slope of the roof. It protects the roof by filling the gap below the cut of the first layer of multicolor asphalt shingles and below the joint of the first layer of multicolor asphalt shingles.

The initial layer of multicolored asphalt shingles is cut with new multicolored asphalt shingles into strips at least half the width. The initial layer should cover the cornice and remove excess. An initial layer of multicolor asphalt shingles is laid from the edge of either gable in any direction. The first initial layer should be removed by 167mm and then extended by about 10-15mm. 4. Laying of colorful asphalt tiles above the second layer

It shall be flush with the exposed dividing line of the multi-colored asphalt shingles laid below. 5. Installation of the ridge

7. Installation of flooding

After laying colorful asphalt shingles, start laying water around the chimney, vents, and other openings in the roof.

Therefore, flooding is necessary for all roof areas where two slopes meet, where the roof meets the vertical wall, such as chimney, roof protrusion of air vent. Flooding is used to guide water over the joint rather than letting it into the joint.

Flooding at the vents

Four, winter construction

Under normal circumstances, under the condition of less than 5℃, it is not suitable for the construction of asphalt tiles. If construction is necessary, perform the following operations:

1. Winter asphalt tiles should be stored 48 hours in advance in an indoor storage with a temperature higher than 5℃ before construction. For use during construction, each removed tile shall be completed within two hours of construction, and be taken as needed.

2. Winter asphalt tile is more brittle, so it is necessary to pay special attention to manual handling, and it is strictly prohibited to carry and beat.

3. In winter construction, because the temperature is too low, self-sealing adhesive strip can not produce effect, therefore, asphalt adhesive must be used to assist the construction. Note: this adhesive should be applied to each piece of asphalt tile.

Five, cleaning and maintenance after construction

After the completion of all tile construction, please clean the fragmentary materials and product bags and other sundries in time, and thoroughly check the roof.
